Pictured is a statue of Saint Ignatius by sculptor Estanislau Feliu Maspons in the Basilica de Santa Maria del Mar. He is sitting on a simple wooden bench at the site where he used to beg alms in 1524-1525. His right hand is open to beg and his left hand holds the Constitutions of the Society of Jesus. It is a touching statue and the fingers of his right hand are worn smooth from many touches. The church is located in the Ribera district of Barcelona, Spain. It was built between 1329 and 1383 and is an outstanding example of Catalin Gothic architectural style.
