Rabi Löw Yehuda Liwa ben Becalel. He was the greatest religious thinker of Judaism in Central Europe from the 16th to the 17th century. century. He served as Chief Rabbi in Mikulov, in 1573 he left for Prague, where he led the Talmudic School Yeshiva at the Klausen Synagogue. For some periods he also worked in Poznan. In 1592 his audience was with Emperor Rudolf II. He became Chief Rabbi of Prague at the end of his life. Most of his Hebrew books were published in Prague, where Löw is buried at the Old Jewish Cemetery.
