Fort Hammenhiel, Sri Lanka - February 20, 2017: The arched entrance to the Fort Hammenhiel resort hotel located on an island off the coast of the Jaffna Peninsula, northern Sri Lanka. An antique cannon along with a protective turret are visible. The fort was built by the Portuguese in the mid-17th century and later used by the Dutch and the Portuguese to protect the sea lanes into Jaffna as well as a prison.
