Pictured is the Circle Ten Council Medallion on the John D. Murchison Scouting Center in Dallas, Texas. In the center of the knotted rope is the universal emblem of the boy scouts which takes the fleur-de-lis of the Scout badge and adds two stars and an eagle with an American shield. The stars symbolize truth and knowledge. The eagle and shield symbolize freedom and readiness to defend it. The rope is there to symbolize the family of the World Scout Movement and the knot symbolizes the strength of the unity of the World Scout Movement. The Center is the headquarters building for Circle 10 Council of the Boy Scouts of the USA in Dallas, Texas. Founded in 1913 and based in Dallas, approximately 50,000 youth and 15,000 adults participate in Scouting through the council each year.
